Your new tattoo will take between 2-4 weeks to heal.
2 hours after getting your tattoo done, wash your hands, remove the bandage and gently wash your tattoo with anti-bacterial soap (spectrojel, cetaphil or dove) to remove excess ink, blood and any other bodily fluids. Once washed, pat dry with clean paper towel. Once dry you will then apply your first application of cream.
During the healing process you must apply a cream on the tattoo every day.
Use a cream that was recommended by your tattoo artist to moisturize your tattoo.
Always wash your hands before applying, put a thin layer of cream over the entire tattoo gently rubbing the area so it's absorbed.
You should cream your tattoo generally 3-6 times each day during the first 2 weeks.
Your tattoo should never be dry!
For extreme dry area's of the body or if recommended by your artist you can use an ointment (webber) for the first 3-5 days and then switch to cream for the remainder of the healing.
It is normal for the tattoo to be itchy, if it is extremely itchy it means it's too dry and you need to cream it. You might also see some scabbing in certain areas of the tattoo, this is normal and in the final stages of healing, tattoos usually lightly peal similar to sunburn.
DO NOT scratch or pick at your tattoo no matter how itchy it is.
Wear loose fitting clothing, cotton is best to breath threw. You don't want anything to restricting on it. During the healing its best to take showers. Avoid washing your tattoo and no direct water pressure on it. You should refrain from baths, swimming pools, spas, Jacuzzis and tanning ( sun + salons) during the healing, if you do so then your tattoo will not heal properly and your guarantee is no longer valid. Once tattoo is healed, if your going to be in the sun you should always put a sun block of minimum spf15 on it to protect it.
Tattoo guarantee: it is normal during the healing process to shed scabs and sometimes the scab takes some of the ink potency with it, so this is why we guarantee our work. You have 3 months to get your touch-up. Touch-ups are only 10$, you are just paying for the needle. Keep your receipt to prove date when tattoo was originally done.

Your new piercing will take between 2-4 weeks to heal. Most importantly : do not touch or play with your piercing, especially without washing your hands first !
General Body Piercing :To take proper care of your new piercing you will need to use TattooBar's Medical saline solution (0.9% sodium chloride irrigation).
In the first 2 weeks spray the piercing 3 times each day (morning, afternoon and night) 1-2 sprays at a time is fine. Next 2 weeks twice daily (morning and night). Finally the last 2 weeks once daily (after you take your shower would be the most ideal). Do not over use this product, as it can cause dryness to the skin and then affect the healing process. Follow this guidelines exactly or if you were advised otherwise by your piercer.
Do not use q-tips on your piercing to clean it, they will cause irritation. It is normal that you will see a yellowish-clear fluid exiting the piercing, which hardens to a crust. This is lymphatic fluid; this is your body doing its job to heal. Do not pick off this crust with your fingers! You do not want to put bacteria inside the fistula (hole). Simply when taking your daily shower, always take an extra minute or so to thoroughly rinse that area. You may gently touch your piercing in the shower, being that your hands are clean; to make sure all crust is gone.
You should never remove the jewelry during the healing process, in doing this you take on the risk of not being able to put the jewelry back in and resulting in the piercing closing. Redness and minor to moderate inflammation of the area surrounding the piercing is normal; the first couple of days to 2 weeks are usually when you'll see the most swelling and will decrease with every day. If it's very sensitive due to swelling, you can take I.B profin (Advil) to reduce the inflammation. Try not to directly sleep on it or put to much pressure on the area as well as do not cover it, it needs to breath, you do not want anything restricting this area during the healing process.
Here at TattooBar we offer a 2 and 4 weeks check ups. This way we can insure the healing of your piercing and detect any problems early on if anything should occur. Also answer any and all questions you might have. Sometimes certain piercings require that you change your jewelry between the 2-4 weeks mark, its always better to have a piercer change your jewelry in a fresh healing piercing being that your are in a sterile environment.

Your new piercing will take between 2-4 weeks to heal.
You should use non-alcoholic Oral-B mouthwash to rinse your mouth during the healing process. Generally for a tongue piercing you will have to rinse your mouth between 4-7 times each day during the first 2 weeks (initial healing time), not more, not less. After you brush your teeth in the morning, after you eat all your main meals (not snacks) and after you brush your teeth at night. NOT after smoking, drinking or snacks. You do not want to over rinse your mouth even if there is no alcohol inside the mouthwash, it can still be very strong and corrosive to the tongue. You may even dilute the mouthwash with 50% water if you do find it burns or is too strong.
For all other oral piercings you can rinse between 2-4 times per day during the first 2 weeks.
The things you should stay away from:
You should try to refrain from smoking during the first 24-72hours, if you do not want to run the risk of infection. You should also refrain from eating these dairy products; cottage cheese, feta cheese and yogurt being that they have bacterial cultures and could cause infection. And NO beer during the first 2 weeks, hard alcohol is fine (the clearer the better) and NO oral sex during the first 2 weeks. Try not to play with the new piercing to much as that will retain swelling longer. Don't touch it without washing your hands first and if you are touching, it should only be to check that the beads are on securely. The presence of swelling is normal in the area that was pierced, usually the first 4 days are the worse and slowly, each day it will decrease. I.B Profin (Advil, Motrin I.B) will also help decrease the inflammation. Do not remove the jewelry at all during the initial healing period, doing so will most likely result in the piercing closing.
